Merry Christmas to All!

I hope you had a merry Christmas! We did, even though it was rather different. My parents left to go on a cruise through the Panama Canal for our ENTIRE break, which I think is fabulous for them and rather lonely for us. Still, we had a great time. My aunt invited us over to her house for Christmas Day, so we got to spend time with all of the cousins (a rare occasion these days!) for a few hours after church. Then we came back and watched the Chargers WIN AGAIN!! =) Devon left after the game, so our wonderful neighbors came over and helped us sing "Happy Birthday" to Jesus and eat cake.

Caleb got Rock Band for Christmas and a great time was had by all pretending that we knew how to play instruments. I have to say, though, that we went out and bought Lego Rock Band because it received reviews saying it was more family-friendly. I'm grateful that my five-year-old no longer has to sing along with people with tattoos and piercings who are wearing skulls and ripped clothing. Unfortunately, Lego Rock Band doesn't come with instruments, so you're kind of stuck making a purchase rated "T." If you're going to buy it and you also are not a fan of skulls or piercings, I recommend the Beatles version!

Nikki has been reading, reading, reading, and reading. In between, she plays with her bunny and puts in a few songs on Rock Band. She is having quite the vacation, which ends tomorrow when she has to get to work on her science fair project and catch up on her chores. When she's done, she can go back to loafing around.

We are looking forward to visits from many different people this week and look forward to hanging out around the house. May your week be filled with friendship and fun. Merry Christmas!
