It's too hard!

Caleb is napping sporadically these days. On the days where nobody is pounding on the house, we like to at least give him the opportunity to take a nap. Today, WE really wanted to take a nap and he desperately needed the rest. Here's how it all went down.
  • 1:00 Read a story after lunch, give kisses, say goodnight.
  • 1:30 Listen to Nikki putting Caleb back in his room. Crying ensues.
  • 1:45 Listen to Nikki telling Caleb to go back in his room. Scott goes downstairs and tucks him back in. Crying ensues.
  • 2:00 Caleb appears at the top of the stairs (apparently, Nikki is done with her prison guard duty). I take him back to his room. He cries and tells me, "It's too hard to take a rest." We sing a song, he settles, I go back to bed.
  • 2:30 Caleb is up again. Scott takes him back to his room. Again, "It's too hard!!!"
  • 3:00 Repeat above scenario.
  • 3:30 We hear Caleb playing downstairs.
At this point, we gave up and decided to head to my mom's for dinner. About five minutes into the car ride, Caleb fell asleep. He didn't wake up when we got there. But it's too hard to take a nap.

*sigh*

This makes me thankful for Andon. That boy loves his bed and would nap half the day if I let him. Hope things go better tomorrow.
